Evidence & Validation

An evidence-status overview for LegMaker, a wheelchair-integrated lower-limb exercise platform. We distinguish information reported to date from ongoing verification and future evaluation plans.

What we can substantiate—and what we still need to test

LegMaker is investigational. Prototype demonstrations and engineering plans should not be interpreted as proven clinical outcomes, FDA clearance, market availability or evidence of reimbursement.

Reported / existing

Prototype and design work

Project materials describe wheelchair-mounted prototype hardware, lower-limb pedaling concepts, assembly designs and prior hands-on user feedback. Independent verification reports are not yet published here.

To be verified

Engineering acceptance

Proposed test targets include loaded runtime, torque sensing, adjustable resistance, wireless performance, secure attachment and safe stopping behavior. These are targets, not certified results.

Planned / subject to approval

Usability research

Research planning describes potential evaluations with AURC/Shepherd Center and Texas State University. Partner scope, safety review, agreements and participant protections must be confirmed before testing.

Evidence standard: We will publish dated test methods and acceptance criteria where appropriate, identify authors/reviewers, disclose sample sizes and limitations, and clearly distinguish measured outcomes from design goals.

Research and quality roadmap

1 · Engineering

Configuration & traceability

Released CAD bill of materials, assembly instructions, first-article inspection, component traceability and supplier verification.

2 · Bench testing

Objective verification

Documented attachment, endurance, motor-control, sensing, battery, emergency-stop and communications tests.

3 · Human factors

Accessible evaluation

Defined tasks, consent, applicable research oversight, participant feedback and usability reporting once approvals are in place.
